Android 15 is scheduled to be released next year, following Android 14 this fall. Since it's so early in the development cycle, we don't know much, but here's what we do know, along with what some people think will be included.

Android 15 release date
Android 14 is Next Android update So Android 15 will not arrive (The code is called Vanilla Ice Cream.) until next year. Watch for an official announcement at Google I/O 2024.
Like all Android releases, it will be available through the Android Beta program after Google announces it. The update will be available to the public sometime after that, and you'll receive a notification to download it if your phone supports it.
We expect it to be released in late 2024, most likely in August or September.

Its features
Our Android 14 article lists all the features expected in this release. Most, if not all, of the features mentioned there will carry over to Android 15. Some notable ideas include custom lock screen shortcuts, more private screen recording, and app cloning.
Since Android 14 is still in development, it's understandable that we don't have much to say about what's new. Typical changes like performance improvements, UI tweaks, and privacy enhancements are expected, as usual.
One rumor we've already seen, reported by researcher Mishaal Rahman, is that the 15th will detach NFC from system updates. The idea is for Google to speed up the process of fixing issues with the NFC stack, allowing these updates to arrive through the Play Store.
By making Android's new Thread network stack part of Project Mainline, it would be more easily updateable through Google Play System Updates. Would also improve quality and interoperability.

Following the Bluetooth, WiFi, and UWB stacks, Google will next turn Android's NFC stack into a modular system component, ie. a Project Mainline module!
It's too early for this to happen in Android 14, but the NFC stack could become a Mainline module as early as Android 15. pic.twitter.com/55icKYJsdz

If rumors about a Google AirTag replacement are true, Android 15 could introduce the necessary software to locate the tracker. It's unclear when or if such a tracker will launch, but it wasn't mentioned at Google I/O 2023, so we could expect it to launch next year in time for Android 15.
Many changes can happen between now and its release, so anything seems reasonable, like this concept for its notification panel.
