What would life be like without technology? A family trip as an example.

Life is something we have to fulfill our dreams and celebrate our successes but life without technology would have had its own distinct features.

Many of these features have been eliminated by the emergence of technology, which has affected all areas of life.

Education, health, marketing, and various business fields have been impacted by the emergence of the digital age and the development of technology and artificial intelligence.

If we close our eyes for a few seconds and imagine Life without technology, without even the slightest hint of technology such as agricultural tools and industrial gears.

We will find a life completely devoid of any progress or development, a life that does not even reach the level of primitive life, as they have reached fire, which is considered a basic tool of technology.

You will not find a medicine to heal your pain, you will not find a home to live in, you will not find a pen to write with and record events.

In reality, you will not find life, but rather a group of people driven by instinct without reason or thought. If reason and thought had existed, technology would have been achieved, as has already happened.

Family trip without technology

Planning a tech-free road trip with your family? It may seem daunting, but taking some time off from technology will do everyone a world of good. Take a break, and you'll definitely experience some connection, bonding, and savoring time together. The long-term benefits and gains may surprise you. Here are my tips for a tech-free road trip that will reconnect the whole family.

We love technology. We consider it an integral part of our daily lives in everything from running our businesses, educating our children, entertaining and playing, and even communicating with friends and family.

But at the end of the day, it's important that we take time to focus on what matters most. Our family. Our children. Each other. The mental and health benefits of going tech-free have been demonstrated time and again. We need to disconnect and connect with the people around us without devices. They are the most important people in our lives. And we need to continue to nurture and cherish our attachments to the people in our lives. We can't do that if our noses are pointed at a screen most of the time.

Now, I know the thought of planning an entire weekend without any technology is scary. It's for us, too. Our businesses depend on technology, and it's all on us to keep things running. The thought of not being connected is scary.

We've also developed this mentality of needing to "check in," to let people know where we are, what we're doing. We feel the need to return messages immediately. To be constantly available. It can be hard to turn that off. It's become part of the way we work and operate. But we need to; for our health, our relationships, and our safety.

We're an artistic family, but we also feel our mental health needs to be more about ourselves, and our kids more than anything else. We recently planned a tech-free road trip... and it was amazing!

Planning a tech-free trip with the family

planning.

There's no way around it. Completely de-technologying and separating an entire family from people takes a bit of planning. We planned a tech-free trip to the lake and it was magical!

The first step? You need to take care of your car.

I know this may seem like a strange place to start when planning a trip, but think about it. If you have car trouble, the first thing you'll do is pull out your cell phone to call for help. Then, as the stress and anxiety build, you'll immediately connect and start checking messages and searching for things, and suddenly your tech-free vacation isn't a thing anymore.

For any road trip, you should perform some basic maintenance on your vehicle before you head out. Change the oil, top up the fluids, check the tires, and, of course, warm it up.

Make sure you're using the oil your vehicle needs as specified in your owner's manual and check your local Canadian Tire stores for availability. We chose Quaker State® Ultima Durability™ Full Synthetic Oil, which is always at a great price at Cornell Tire. Durability is important, and I want to protect my vehicle so it keeps my family safe on the road. Get extra durability and fuel-saving additives that keep the oil fresh throughout all our trips and adventures.

 Oil change and car maintenance

Tech-Free-Road-Trip-6 What Life Would Be Like Without Technology - A Family Trip Example

When we arrived home from the Canadian Tire Company, we focused on getting the car ready and getting the oil changed. It's important to me to have my kids involved in car maintenance. They'll be driving soon, and I want them to know how to safely and properly care for their cars. Proper maintenance and care are important to protecting their first major investment: the car. Once the car was ready, we packed it up and headed out on the road!

We had an amazing journey. We talked, not just quick, superficial conversations, but really big, deep conversations. I got to know my kids and my husband on a new level. We bonded and nurtured those attachments. My kids are growing up into the most amazing human beings. I want to get to know those people who they've become.

This little journey helped us separate everything that doesn't really matter, and connect to what does matter, and some more.

And you know what? All that technology, all that messaging, everything waited until we got back. But our kids? They're growing up so fast, that wasn't something we could wait for. And all it took was a trip to Canadian Tire to make our tech-free trip a reality.
