This cardinal handprint is the perfect winter craft for kids! The best part is that it's low-mess as it's made with just paper and a little fabric. Your kids will love creating their very own cardinal handprint and winter tree scene! And you'll have this print as a keepsake for years to come, too! Don't forget to date the back so you can remember your kids' ages when they made it.
Supplies needed for the cardinal's fingerprint
- Blue paper 12cm x 12cm.
- White cardstock (to fit larger blue cards) 2 x 12
- orange cards or paper
- red cloth
- a pair of scissors
- snowflake foam stickers
- red hair
- black foam
- Paper eyes
- Strong glue for children, non-toxic glue.
We use this glue to stick the fabric together.
1. First, cut strips of white paper to create trees. Cut small slits on the sides. We do this randomly to give it a more natural effect.
2 Cut smaller pieces to use as tree branches, then tuck them under one trunk and glue them on.
3. Cut a handprint from red fabric and glue it to the top of the branch.
4. Now glue the feather to the top of the handprint. Then cut a small black piece as a beak for the face. Glue the beak and glue the paper eye on top.
5. Add decorative stickers and white foam for decoration.
That's how your cardinal print is done! We love keeping things simple. Make your winter art scene even more stunning and beautiful by sticking it on the walls for visitors to admire!
