How to Change WhatsApp Image Download Quality on Android
If you have an Android smartphone, here's how to change the image upload quality on WhatsApp.
Step 1: Open the WhatsApp app on your Android smartphone. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the app.
Step 2: Select Settings.
Step 3: Now, tap on Storage & Data.
Step 4: The last section on the screen is “Media Upload Quality.” By default, image upload quality is set to Automatic (Recommended).
Step 5: Tap Image Upload Quality and choose the option that's right for you. If you always want to send high-quality images, select Best Quality. If you have a limited or restricted connection, select Data Saver.

How to Change WhatsApp Image Download Quality on iPhone
If you're using WhatsApp on an iPhone, here's how to change the image upload quality setting.
Step 1: Open the WhatsApp app on your iPhone. Go to the Settings tab at the bottom right of the screen.
Step 2: Tap Storage & data.
Step 3: Select the media upload quality option at the bottom of the page.
Step 4: Auto (Recommended) is the default. Change the option to your preference. The best quality has the least compression, but requires more bandwidth. Data savings are best when data is low or in an area with a poor connection.

Your image will now be sent in the best possible resolution. This is useful if you want to send high-resolution images, such as wallpapers, or images with small text, such as scanned documents.
