Venn diagrams differ from traditional diagrams in that they use overlapping circles or ovals to show the connection or relationship between a set of objects. Typically related to mathematics, they can also help make data sets easier to understand. But is there a way to create a Venn diagram in Google Docs? Read on to find out.

As always, the trusty drawing tool comes in handy when creating any shape-related diagram. With it, you can easily create, flip, and even rotate images in Google Docs. But there's an easier way to create Venn diagrams using extensions. Let's walk you through both methods.
Note: Make sure you're signed in to your Google Account before you begin.
1. Create a VENN diagram in Google Docs using the drawing tool
The drawing tool is a simple yet powerful feature in Google Docs. Using it, you can easily create a Venn diagram in Google Docs. You can even add text to the diagram. Follow the steps below.
Step 1: Open Google Docs.
Step 2: From the menu bar, click Insert > Drawing > Select NewThis will open. drawing window.

Step 3: Here, click on the shape. Then go to Shapes and click on Al-Baydawi.

Step 4: Now, use the cursor to create an oval shape according to your preference.
Step 5: Shapes in Google Docs come pre-filled with the background color. To remove this, select the shape Click on the icon paint bucket.
Step 6: Next, tap transparent.

- In Windows: Click on Control + SIZE For copying and Control+V to paste.
- On Mac: Click on Command + C For copying and Command + V to paste.
Step 8: Now, use your cursor to arrange the shape as desired. You can also use the red grid lines to arrange your shape.

Step 9: Now, click the icon text box To insert text into your Venn diagram.

Step 10: Use the mouse pointer to create Text box Inside the diagram shapes.
Step 11: Click the text box. Once selected, start typing. Repeat this process for all shapes.

Step 12: Once done, click Save and close.

This will insert the Venn diagram into your document. If you want to make any further changes, click anywhere on the Venn diagram and once the Edit option appears, click it. This will reopen the drawing window.
2. Insert a VENN diagram into Google Docs using add-ons
Aside from creating Venn diagrams manually, you can also use templates and customize them to suit your needs. While Venn diagram templates aren't available in Google Docs, you can use add-ons like Lucidchart and Cacoo to access them.
We've divided the steps into three sections. First, we'll cover how to get the Lucidchart or Cacoo add-on, followed by steps for using Lucidchart and Cacoo. If you already know how to get the add-on, you can skip to the second section.
1. Download add-ons in Google Docs
Step 1: Open the relevant file in Google Docs and click Add-ons.
Step 2: Next, go to Add-ons and click on “Get additional functions.”


Step 4: Next, tap stabilizing.

Step 5: Click "Continue" Follow the on-screen instructions to install the add-on.

Now, follow the steps above to install the Cacoo add-on as well. Once the add-on is installed, it's time to update it. Follow the steps below to do so.
2. Use the Lucidchart Add-On to create a Venn diagram
Once you add the add-in, it will automatically appear in the Documents sidebar menu. Here's how to do it.
Note: Make sure you are signed in to your Lucidchart account before proceeding.
Step 1: To access the Lucidchart add-in, click Arrow To expand the side panel.

Step 2: Next, tap Lucidchart icon.

Step 3: This will open Lucidchart in the sidebar. You can use these tools to create a Venn diagram.

Step 4: You can also click three-dot icon To access additional menu icons.

Using the available templates, you can easily insert a Venn diagram into Google Docs. If you're using the free plan, some limitations may apply. For full access, you can also subscribe to their plans.
3. Use Cacoo Diagrams
Step 1: Once you have finished adding the Cacoo Diagrams add-on using the steps above, click Extensions.
Step 2: After that, go to Cacoo Diagrams and click Insert Diagram. This will open the side panel. For Cacoo charts.

Step 3: Here, click on Getting started. This will open a separate window.

Step 4: Log in to your Cacoo Charts, then click “Authorize” To connect your add-in to the documents.

Step 5: If you don't currently have any documents in Cacoo Charts, click Create a diagram. This will open the Cacoo charts in a separate window.

Step 6: Here, you can use the various templates available to create your Venn diagram and save the document.

Step 7: After that, go back to Google Docs and click Update. Your most recently saved diagram document will appear here.

You can then insert this diagram to create a Venn diagram in Google Docs.
