In this post, we'll list and explain the new Apple Music features in detail. For this post, we're using the public beta. However, these features will be available after the stable release of iOS 17. Here are the new Apple Music features you should try with iOS 17.
1. View song credits
This feature became available with the release of Apple Music Classical on iPhoneYou can check detailed song credits, including categories like performers, songwriting, lyrics, production, and engineering. This feature is now also available to Apple Music users. Here's how to view song credits in Apple Music on your iPhone.
Step 1: Open an app Apple Music on your iPhone.
Step 2: start the song that you want to check their credentials.
Step 3: Tap the three dots next to the song name on the playback screen and select View credits.
You can check the detailed credits of the song being played.
2. CROSSFADE SONGS IN APPLE MUSIC
Another highly requested feature is the ability to crossfade songs in Apple Music on your iPhone. This feature was already available for Android users on Apple Music. It makes its way to the iPhone in the list of new Apple Music features. Simply put, a crossfade will fade in at the beginning of each song while the previous song gradually fades out until it reaches its end. This creates a seamless transition between multiple songs playing at once on the Apple Music app. Here's how to enable crossfade on Apple Music on your iPhone.
Step 1: Open an app Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap Music.
Step 3: Scroll down and tap the toggle button next to crossfade to enable the feature.
You can also change the length of the Crossfade transition.
Now close the Settings app and open Apple Music to enjoy your favorite tracks without any pauses.
3. Collaborative playlists
The next Apple Music feature introduced with iOS 17 is collaborative playlists. You can create a collaborative playlist on Apple Music to enjoy a shared listening experience with your friends. Previously, you always had to share a playlist link with your friends. But with collaborative playlists, you can invite your friends to join a playlist where anyone can add, reorder, or remove songs. You can also react with emojis when your friend plays something from the playlist.
As of this writing, this feature will be available to all iPhone users later this year with an update.
4. SHAREPLAY for CARPLAY
If you have a car that supports Apple CarPlay, you can now use the SharePlay feature in Apple Music. This is available for iPhone and iPad users. But with iOS 17, you can now use it while driving with friends and family in your car.
When SharePlay is enabled, other passengers will receive a prompt on their iPhones to join the listening session and control music playback according to their preferences. Passengers must have iOS 17 installed on their iPhones to receive the prompt.
5. Mobile music player
Finally, the new Apple Music update now features an animated music player. The interface displays album art blended with media controls. You can see the visual animation effects while your favorite songs or background music play.
