When creating documents, one of the best ways to make them engaging is to include icons. For example, tick marks can indicate a checklist of important points covered. They can also be used to indicate a completed item on a to-do list or to serve as a symbol to indicate a bulleted list.
When working on a file in a Microsoft Office application, you can insert hash codes anywhere you see fit. It's somewhat similar to how Adding special characters in Windows 10.
However, adding it isn't as easy as pressing a shortcut. You may have to go through a few steps to get the hang of it.
1. Copy the tag symbol using the character map.
In Windows 10, you can copy tick codes from the Character Map settings and paste them into an Office document. Here's how:

Step 2: Click the drop-down menu next to the line.
Step 3: Scroll through the font types until you see WingdingsYou can also type Wingdings for faster results.
Step 4: Scroll through the icons displayed below Wingdings until you select hash code.
Step 5: Click the tick icon and click Determination.
Step 6: Once the hash symbol appears among the characters to be copied, select copies.
Step 7: In the document you are working on, do Paste Hash code.
2. Enter the tag code using the symbol command.
Using the Symbol Command in Microsoft Office, users can add any symbol to PowerPoint, Word, or Excel. Here's what you need to do:
Step 1: Launch any Microsoft Office application.
Step 2: Place the cursor on the part of the document where you want the hash symbol.
Step 3: Click the tab Insert.
Step 4: Select the drop-down menu next to the icon.
Step 5: Check the hash code in the drop-down menu. If it is missing, click More Of symbols.
Step 6: A dialog box should open. Select the drop-down menu next to the tab. Line.
Step 7: Scroll down until you locate Wingdings.
Step 8: In the Character Code column, type 252 or 254 (depending on your preferred hash code) and this should display the hash code.
Step 9: Select Insert to display the tick symbol in your document.
3. Enter the tag code using the ALT shortcut.
The ALT shortcut provides a quick way to insert a hash symbol into Microsoft Office documents. However, this requires memorizing the character code, as each symbol in Office is assigned a unique code. A numeric keypad is also required on your keyboard.
Here's how it works:

Step 2: On the Office document home page, change Line In the Font tab go to Wingdings.

The bullet library in Office documents contains some symbols, including the tick symbol. When you insert symbols from the bullet library into Word, it treats them as bullets. You can't use this method in Excel, as bullets aren't available.
Here's how to take advantage of this method:
Step 1: In Word or PowerPoint, place the cursor on the portion of text where you want the tick symbol.
