While billions of users use instant messaging (IM) apps, many still rely on text messages from banks and other services. The problem arises when you suddenly stop receiving text messages. Here's how to fix an Android phone that won't receive text messages.
1. Check the network connection
Before proceeding with advanced fixes, let's check your network connection first. Make sure you have a full signal bar in the Notification Center.
You can also enable Airplane mode and wait 60 seconds. Disable Airplane mode from the Notification Center, and you'll still receive text messages.
2. Unblock invalid numbers
In the past, you may have blocked certain numbers to stop receiving messages. Now's the time to review your blocked numbers list and make changes.
Step 1: Open an app Messages And press Three-dot menu above.
Step 2: Locate Block numbers and spam.
Step 3: Go to List Block numbers.
Remove relevant numbers from the list.
3. Check spam messages

4. Disable spam protection

6. Reset network settings
A network glitch on your Android phone may prevent you from receiving notifications. You can easily reset your network settings and restart your phone to try again.
Step 1: Open an app Settings.
Step 2: Look for Reset network settings.
Step 3: Locate Reset network settings From the search suggestions, use the option from the following list.
7. Android security patch update
While Android OEMs take their sweet time for relevant Android version updates, they regularly release monthly security patches to keep the device up-to-date and fix bugs.
Your OEM has likely released the latest security patch for the month. It's time to check and install it from the Settings app.
Step 1: Open menu Android Settings.
Step 2: Scroll down to a list upgrade software.
Step 3: Download and install the latest security patch on your phone.
8. Uninstall IMESSAGE
Have you recently switched from an iPhone to an Android? Your mobile number may be active as iMessage on your iPhone, meaning you won't receive text messages on your Android phone with a SIM card, but you'll still receive them on your iPhone.
