Consider the weight of the bag you're using—generally, anything under 2 kg is considered lightweight. Soft-sided bags are often lighter, but they're also durable, either with metal zippers or thicker hardware. For bags, try Sammonsett or high-quality travel bags and backpacks.
Consider lighter alternatives
For laptops, anything between 2 and 2.7 kg is generally considered lightweight. Alternatively, you might consider a tablet weighing around 800 grams, especially if your trip is purely for leisure travel.
Moving around light also means limiting liquids, so instead, try some solid cosmetic products, as they are smaller and last longer than their liquid counterparts. Lush carries a wide variety of solid shampoos, moisturizers, face washes, and soaps, some as light as 45 grams.
Prioritize items that have multiple uses.
The more uses an item has, the more it will weigh down your suitcase; multifunctional items are key when traveling. When packing your clothes, everything should match, so choose two or three complementary colors to stick to and pack clothes that work well in layers as well as standalone pieces.
Be yourself
Take a jacket and use the reveal pockets to carry some small but heavy items like a camera, phone, or chargers.
On travel days, simply pack your clothes and wear your bulkiest shoes, as shoes usually take up most of the weight.
