WSAPPX is listed by Microsoft as a vital process for Windows 8 and 10. To be honest, the WSAPPX process doesn't need to use a significant amount of system resources to perform its intended tasks. However, if you notice a WSAPPX high disk or CPU usage error, or if any of its applications are inactive, consider disabling it. Below, we'll discuss how to fix the WSAPPX high disk and CPU usage error in Windows 10.
The process contains two subservices:
- AppX Deployment Service (AppXSVC) – Responsible for installing, updating, and removing apps. AppXSVC runs when the Store is open.
- ClipSVC – Officially provides infrastructure support for the Microsoft Store and is activated when a Store app is launched for licensing.

How to Fix WSAPPX High Disk and CPU Usage Error in Windows 10
Most days, you don't have to worry about the hundreds of system processes and services running in the background, allowing your Windows operating system to run flawlessly. However, more often than not, system processes can exhibit abnormal behavior, such as consuming unnecessary high resources. The WSAPPX system process is notorious for its inconvenience. It manages the installation, updates, and removal of applications from the system. Windows Store Like Microsoft Universal Applications Platform.

There are four different ways to limit WSAPPX's high disk and CPU usage, which are explained in detail in the following sections:
- If you rarely find yourself using any of the native Store apps, disable the auto-update feature and even uninstall a few of them.
- Since the process is associated with the Microsoft Store app, disabling the store will prevent it from using unnecessary resources.
- You can also disable AppXSVC and ClipSVC from the Registry Editor.
- Increasing virtual memory may also solve this issue.
Method 1: Turn off automatic app updates
The easiest way to restrict the WSAPPX process, particularly the AppXSVC subservice, is to disable the automatic update feature for Store apps. With automatic update disabled, AppXSVC will not run or cause significant CPU and disk usage when you open the Windows Store.

4. Here, change the value data to 4 to disable ClipSVC and click OK. "OK" To save.

5. Restart your Windows PC for the changes to take effect.
Method 4: Increase virtual memory
Another trick many users have used to reduce CPU and disk usage by nearly 100% due to WSAPPX is to increase their PC's virtual memory. To learn more about virtual memory, see our article on virtual memory (paging file) in Windows 10. Follow these steps to increase virtual memory in Windows 10:
