We are using an iPhone but these steps apply to iPad as well.

Step 1: Open iMovie app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Click on a movie to create. new project.

Step 3: Locate File which you want to import and click on Create a movie.

Step 4: after Add the clip Yours, click Settings icon at the bottom right.

Step 5: Press the toggle button to enable. Theme Soundtrack.

You can now swipe left to check out the different audio tracks available in iMovie.

Step 6: Click to select the audio track of your choice.

Step 7: Once selected, click Done in the upper right.

iMovie will add a green line under the video clip you select. This thin green line represents the audio you've chosen for the theme. The name of your audio file will also be displayed.
