Turn on secret chat from user profile
Follow the steps below to enable Secret Chat from your user profile.
Step 1: Open Facebook Messenger On iPhone or Android.

Step 3: Click on Contact Name above.
Step 4: Scroll down and select Go to secret chat From the More Actions menu.
Enable secret chat from the compose menu
Step 1: Open Facebook Messenger and press the . button construction above.

Send disappearing messages in a secret chat

Set the appropriate time, and from now on, every message you send will be deleted from both sides as soon as the recipient sees it. For example, if you set 10 seconds, all new messages for each person will be deleted 10 seconds after they've been seen.
Once the other person has viewed the message, you'll see a timer next to the chat bubble. This indicates the time remaining until the message disappears from both sides.
Temporarily change disappearing messages
You've set 10 seconds as your disappearing message timer, and now you're finding it's too low in some cases. Facebook Messenger lets you easily change the disappearing message timer in the app. Here's how.

Delete secret conversation
Normally, you don't need to delete secret chats if you use the disappearing messages feature. All your messages are automatically deleted from both sides.
But if the secret conversation served its purpose, you may want to remove the thread from Messenger altogether.
