Most web browsers provide a dedicated download manager for checking running processes and downloaded files. Telegram has implemented the same feature in its mobile and desktop apps as well. It's uncommon to see such features in instant messaging apps. However, people often use Telegram to download a bunch of videos and files. With the latest Telegram app, you can easily manage these files.
Use Telegram Download Manager on iPhone
There are several ways to access the Telegram Download Manager on iPhone. When a download is running in any chat thread, the app displays a small down arrow icon in the search bar. You can tap it to check the file download in progress.

You can achieve the same using the below steps as well.
Step 1: Open an app Telegram On your iPhone or Android device, tap the box. Search above.
Step 2: Swipe right on the tabs below the search box to the tab Downloads Check the downloaded files.


You can pause any download and prioritize another file to complete first. You can also long-press a file and select Boost to complete the download quickly.
The downloads list also displays the recipient's name. You can always long-press on the downloaded file and check it in the chat.
Telegram contains Default video player for streaming downloaded filesYou can tap a video to play it and check other options. For example, you can forward the file to another contact, delete it, or tap the three horizontal dots menu at the top and save it to your iPhone.

If your device is running low on storage space, go to the Downloads folder in the Telegram app and delete irrelevant files from the cache.
Manage downloads in Telegram on Android
Telegram uses a completely different user interface on Android. Android users can follow the steps below to efficiently manage downloaded files.
Step 1: Open Telegram And start downloading any file. You should see the process Download above.

Step 2: You can click on it to check all. Files downloaded.
Step 3: You can also click on the icon Search In the upper right corner and go to the tab Downloads.
Step 4: As mentioned, Telegram allows you to pause the download process for multiple files. You can also click speedometer located at the top to increase download speeds.

Find downloads on Telegram for desktop

Check Telegram Storage Manager
Telegram also comes with a dedicated storage manager across all platforms. You can manage cache files, automatically remove cached media, set maximum cache size limits, and quickly view media files.

Step 1: Open Telegram On your phone. Tap the hamburger menu at the top and go to Settings.


Step 2: Locate data and storage. Click on Storage use.


Step 3: Check Cache, set and manage maximum cache size through individual chats.

If the cache size exceeds the specified limit, the oldest unused media will be removed from the device.
