However, an SMS group isn't really a group. Although you send messages to members as a group, they are received as individual messages. When those members reply to the message they received, you receive their message in their own private conversation.
This is why you may not be able to leave all group chats.
Steps to ignore a group text message
You may not necessarily want to leave a particular group. Maybe you don't want to offend family or friends, and you may still want to access at least important messages in the group chat without being bombarded with frustrating notifications. Also, you should stay in work groups because these are important.
Here's how to mute any groups you don't want to receive notifications from:
