The new software update introduces the Mental Wellbeing feature for users to reflect on their mental state and take steps to improve their mental health. This post explains how to use Mental Wellbeing in the Apple Health app on your iPhone.
Note that we're using the iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 public betas for this post. Mental Wellbeing tools will also be available during the stable release.
Mental Wellbeing feature in Apple Health explained
Mental wellbeing is just as important as your physical health. To help users track their mood and mental state, the Health app on iPhone offers several new, intuitive Mental Wellbeing tools. After using this feature for a while, you'll see your mental health insights that will help you identify the factors contributing to your mental state. Here's how to use the feature.
Step 1: Open Application Health on your iPhone.
Step 2: Click on browse in the lower right corner.
Step 3: Locate Mental Wellbeing.
Step 4: Scroll down and tap Getting started.
Step 5: Click on START YOUR At the bottom of the start screen.
Step 6: Choose whether you want to record your feelings or mood and click on next one.
Step 7: Drag the slider left or right to select Your emotional state.
You will see different multi-dimensional shapes and animations appear on your screen depending on the range of emotions.
Step 8: Click on Next to follow.
Step 9: Locate emotional reasons Behind your feeling this way and click on next one.
Step 10: Locate Reason (Reasons) behind your feelings and press Done.
After you record how you feel, you can also set a reminder to do the same.
You can continue tracking your mental health using the same steps. Just tap Record in the top right.
You can also view your daily entries by clicking on the calendar icon in the top right corner.
Edit or remove Mental Wellbeing data on iPhone
Here's how to edit or remove your registered data in Mental Wellbeing.
Step 1: Open an app Health on your iPhone.
Step 2: Click on browse In the lower right corner and select Mental Wellbeing.
Step 3: Scroll down and select Show all data.
Step 4: Click on Release in the upper right corner.
Step 5: Click on the icon the proposal Next to the recorded data or select Delete All in the upper left corner.
How to Use Mental Wellbeing on iPad
Since the Health app is now available iPadOS 17 updateHere's how to use the Mental Wellbeing feature.
Step 1: Open an app Health On iPad.
Step 3: Click on start on the right side.
Step 5: Use the slider to select your emotional state and click next one.
Step 7: Click on Done to finish the process.
As on your iPhone, you can tap "registration" Whenever you want during your day.
Mental Wellbeing Survey in the Health App on iPhone
In addition to using the Mental Wellbeing tracker, you can also choose to take an assessment often used in clinics to treat common conditions like anxiety, depression, and more. This will help you better understand whether you're at low or high risk for symptoms and take action to address them. Here's how to use the Mental Wellbeing questionnaire in the Health app on your iPhone.
Step 1: Open an app Health on your iPhone.
Step 2: Click on browse In the lower right corner and select Mental Wellbeing.
Step 3: Click on State of mind
Step 4: Scroll down and select Take the questionnaire.
Step 5: Select your age group and click on START YOUR At the bottom.
Step 6: Keep answering questions that appear on your screen. Take your time and answer them carefully to get the most accurate assessment.
Step 7: Click on Done After answering the last question.
You will now see your results for risk levels for certain symptoms.
Scroll down and click Export PDF to get a detailed report to share with your doctor.
Scroll down to connect with resources available in your area to request assistance.
