thinner borders
Once you get your hands on the iPhone 15 Pro from an Apple Store, one noticeable difference will immediately become apparent: thinner bezels around the display. Quite a few have complained about the somewhat thick bezels on the iPhone 14 Pro. However, Apple has taken great care to reduce the bezels without compromising the uniform appearance.
Although the frame difference may not be visible against a dark background, it should be quite noticeable against a light background. The screen's refresh rate, resolution, and peak brightness remain the same as the previous model.
Titanium frame
After the launch of the iPhone X in 2017, Apple began using a surgical-grade stainless steel frame on its higher-end models. While the stainless steel on the iPhone 14 Pro offers a sleek, premium look, the glossy finish is a fingerprint magnet and adds weight.
After experimenting with titanium in the Apple Watch lineup, Apple has brought the same technology to the iPhone 15 Pro models. It's lighter and stronger than stainless steel, but it's often harder to work with. The brushed finish prevents fingerprints and resists scratches and bending well. Don't be surprised if the iPhone 15 Pro passes YouTube bend tests.
The titanium frame is also contoured around the edges, making it much easier to grip than the flat edges of the iPhone 14 Pro. One thing Apple says is that the iPhone 15 Pro models are lighter. However, you won't notice this difference unless you measure them against the iPhone 14 Pro models in person.

The mute switch—a signature feature of the iPhone lineup—is finally receiving a major update with the iPhone 15. Apple has replaced the mute switch with an action button. The small button located above the volume keys is programmable to perform various actions, such as turning on the flashlight, launching a shortcut, or opening a specific app.
It's up to you to modify the action button to suit your preferences. Of course, much of this tweakment may depend on how much freedom Apple allows iOS developers to make the most of the new action button.
A17 PRO BIONIC
As expected, the iPhone 15 Pro is undergoing a radical change. The A17 Pro Bionic chip, based on a 3nm microarchitecture, powers the display in the new iPhone 15 Pro models. It's faster and more power-efficient than the Apple A16 chipset found in the iPhone 14 Pro models.
To put it in numbers, the A17 Pro boasts 10% faster performance, a 2X Neural Engine, and a 20% faster GPU than the A16 chip inside the iPhone 14 Pro series. Apple also promises the improved GPU will deliver next-generation gaming performance on the iPhone 15 Pro. To prove it, Ubisoft will release Assassin's Creed Mirage (developed for consoles) for iPhone next year.
Camera upgrades
Last year, Apple upgraded the iPhone 14 Pro with a new 48-megapixel primary camera. While we didn't expect a major hardware change, Apple has showered us with some camera upgrades.
The iPhone 15 Pro cameras allow you to shoot at 24mm, 28mm, and 35mm focal lengths. Apple also claims 2x low-light performance, andPortrait mode Better, OIS, and an anti-reflective coating eliminate glare from photos. You can also shoot Pro Res videos in 4K at 60 fps. Limited to 4K at 30 fps on the iPhone 14 Pro.
While the triple cameras remain the same, the iPhone 15 Pro Max gets some extra love with a new 120mm telephoto camera featuring a unique quad-prism design for mobile. Traditionally, a 120mm camera lens is quite long, but Apple has redesigned one to fit inside the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
USB-C port
After years of resisting USB-C, the iPhone 15 Pro is finally compatible with the universal standard for charging and data transfer. It supports 20W fast charging, the same as last year's iPhone 14 Pro. You can finally use a single cable to charge all your Apple devices—iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and more. Of course, you can also pick up and use a USB-C wired or wireless charger for your iPhone 15 series model.
The USB-C port supports the USB-C 3.0 standard, capable of transferring data at speeds of 10 Gb/s. This is fast enough to transfer Apple ProRes videos and ProRaw photos, provided you use a compatible USB-C 3.0 cable with a Mac or Windows computer.
New ultra-wide chip
AirTag users are in for a treat with the iPhone 15 Pro. The device features a new second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip that's more accurate at finding your lost wallet, keys, pets, and more. Apple claims 3x more reach for navigating lost items.
New color options
A popular trend for Apple every year, the iPhone 15 Pro series features new shades to show off your latest purchases. Apple is discontinuing the Deep Purple color of the iPhone 14 Pro and replacing it with Titan Gray and Blue. Silver and Space Black remain unchanged.

While we don't recommend upgrading your iPhone every year, the long list of improvements makes a strong case for the iPhone 15 Pro.
