How to Unblock a Number on iPhone and Mac
In the heat of the moment or during a series of extremely unfortunate events, you may have blocked a contact, number, or email address. As a result, your calls and messages may not be received, and you certainly won't be contacted in any way. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to unblock a number on your iPhone and Mac.

On a lighter note, you may want to rekindle an old acquaintance and now need to unblock their number. Fortunately, there are several different ways to unblock a contact.
This option displays all blocked contacts listed in their original form. Phone numbers will be displayed without their contact ID name (if you have set one for them) and without any identification procedures. Email addresses will also be listed as is.
This only works if you have the number in your recent call log. If you delete the call logs, you'll need to go back to the block list from the option above or your Contacts app.
Step 1: Open the Calls app and find the blocked contact in your recent calls.
Step 2: Find the contact you want to unblock and tap the “i” icon next to their ID.
Step 3: Scroll down to their contact information and click Unblock this caller.
Upon success, you will see that the option has changed to Block this caller.

Step 1: Open an applicationFaceTimeIf the app isn't in the taskbar, you can search for it using the Launchpad app.
Step 2: Click the “Facetime” drop-down menu in the upper left corner of your computer and scroll down to “Preferences.”
Step 3: A new window will appear showing your FaceTime settings and what we're looking for—blocked. Click the Blocked tab. You'll see all your blocked contacts listed here.

What about reporting junk mail or spam?
If you receive a lot of spam calls and messages, blocking these numbers seems like the best option to keep your phone space cleaner. However, if you report the number as junk via iMessage, these numbers won't appear in your blocked list and you can still receive messages from them.
Numbers marked as "Report Spam" are not blocked from contacting you. The sender's information is sent to Apple Support, and the message will be deleted from your phone.
