When Pushbullet moved its amazing Universal Clipboard feature to the premium version, I was devastated. All my settings crashed overnight, and I had to completely uninstall Pushbullet. So much so, that I've never looked for a replacement until now.
Sending text via Pushbullet to other devices or using notes apps like Google Keep , And Sticky Notes , etc. However, they had a big problem. It was a manual and long process to get text from the computer to Android Or vice versa. One had to open the app, copy the text, open the app on another device, and then paste it from there for use on that device. Ugh!
Fortunately, there are several Pushbullet alternatives that allow you to: synchronization The keeper between Android و PCHere we have selected five of them. Let's check them out.
1. CLIPSYNC
ClipSync is a simple, flawless application. It is only available for iOS. Windows The application works with most popular browsers because many applications require Google ChromeSo, if you use any other browser, you've found your best friend. Moreover, the app doesn't require you to log in and works on local Wi-Fi networks.
Apart from installing the app Android To do this, you need to install the ClipSync server on your Windows computer. It's a simple program that installs like any other. Once installed, you'll see the ClipSync icon in your taskbar. If this doesn't happen, the application will ask you to unblock it from your firewall.
When the icon appears in the taskbar, open the application. Android You'll be able to see your computer. However, if the automatic connection doesn't work, click Connect to the server manually. You'll be prompted to enter your computer's IP address.
So, right click on the ClipSync icon in the taskbar, and you will see the IP address.
If all goes well, the job will start. synchronization The clipboard is up and running immediately. The good thing is that the app is free and lightweight. However, you may be surprised to see that it was last updated in 2012.
Tip: In the Android app settings, enable auto-start so that it starts automatically after booting.
Positives
- No login required
- the speed
Negatives
- No clipboard manager
- Updated years ago
2. CLIP CLOUD – CLIPBOARD SYNC between PC and Android devices
Here comes the application that requires Google ChromeIt's only available as a Chrome extension. You don't get a dedicated PC app.
Clip Cloud only supports Google accounts. You'll need to sign in with the same Google account on both devices. After that, clipboard syncing starts automatically. Copy anything on one device and you'll be able to paste it on the other—no need for a different shortcut key or anything else.
Furthermore, the clipboard is encrypted, and the data is transmitted via Google Cloud Messages. You can also manually compose text from your computer and send it to your phone.
When it comes to drawbacks, first, there's no clipboard history. Second, while you get a 30-day trial period, you have to pay after that. Fortunately, the developer offers quarterly, annual, and lifetime subscriptions.
Positives
- Quickly
- Create text
Negatives
- دفع
- Available for Chrome browser only
3. PIGEON – CLIPBOARD SYNC
Pigeon software, which is available as an add-on, is available at Chrome , as a messenger between your Android phone and your computer. The app uses your Google account to identify connected devices. Once you install the app and sign in with your account, it starts working out of the box. Interestingly, copy and paste works outside of Chrome, too.
By default, sound is played on your computer when data is copied to your Android system. However, you can disable it in the Chrome extension settings. You can also enable and disable devices.
While it works on any network, you can restrict it to Wi-Fi only. Furthermore, you can manually send messages to other devices without copy-pasting using the Timeline feature.
Positives
- Customize
- easy to use
Negatives
- Available for Chrome browser only
4. ALT-C
You might be wondering what kind of name this is. Well, the name has a significance that you'll soon learn. Available on PC and Mac as standalone apps, the Alt-C app doesn't require you to sign in or register. It uses a sync code to identify devices. Once you've installed the app on both your devices (PC and Android), open the Android app and click Get my code.
Now open the application on your computer and enter the generated code.
If you try to copy from one device and paste it to another at this point, it won't work. This is because the app doesn't use the default keyboard shortcuts for copy-paste. You have to use the Alt+C (to copy) and Alt+V (to paste) combination on Windows. Does the name make sense now?
Tip: You can change the key combination.
While its functionality is good, one needs to get used to this new combination. I prefer to have the default key combination. However, having a different feature has its advantage as the app comes with a clipboard history. So with the new keys, you can copy only the data you need. However, compared to other apps, this app feels a bit slow.
Positives
- Portfolio Manager
Negatives
- slow
- different key combination
- Not updated since 2017
5. CLIPTO PRO – Free notes across the advertising platform and keyboard
If you like a feature-rich app, Clipto is your best friend. Besides syncing clipboards between Android and PC, you also get a web version. You can log in with any account, not necessarily a Google account.
The app offers features like clipboard history, search, filter, sort, and more. You can even customize the font size and style. And if you want, you can add your own text as well.
Once installed, you'll need to enable two settings in the Android and Windows apps. One is Clipboard Path and the other is Universal Clipboard. Only when you enable them will you be able to seamlessly sync your clipboard.
Although the features make you love it, the application does have its drawbacks. For example, the Windows application is a bit buggy. You must add a shortcut to its EXE file to your desktop to use it.
Additionally, it must run constantly. Not in the background, but as a dedicated app for it to function smoothly. Furthermore, the Android app sends an alert every time there's a change to the clipboard. This is extremely annoying to me.
Positives
- Feature-rich – search, tags, sorting, history, and more
Negatives
- ting sound
- Needs to be turned on
Good things are coming
I would choose ClipSync or Pigeon. Although ClipSync was updated years ago, it works flawlessly. However, if the idea of an outdated app disappoints you, go with Pigeon. I wish they had a clipboard manager, and then life would have been sorted out. Unfortunately, one can't have everything.
But if it makes you feel better, Microsoft is working on a feature that will original Allows you to sync clipboard between Android and computer.
