Google has completely revamped the Pixel lock screen with the Android 14 update. The company now offers different clock types, Always-on-Display modes, and quick toggles to access frequently used features without unlocking the screen. Here are the best tips and tricks for customizing the Android 14 lock screen on Pixel and other phones.

Apple made a major redesign of the lock screen with the iOS 16 update. Samsung also offers a feature-rich lock screen on its top Galaxy phones. Google's lock screen looks bland in comparison. After the Android 14 update, you can customize your Pixel's lock screen to your liking.
Note: The methods described below only work on Pixel devices running the Android 14 update. Google continues to test the upcoming Android version on select Pixel devices in the beta program. 1. Change the clock style
Your Android phone's lock screen is no longer limited to just the basic clock style. You can choose from a variety of stylish clock styles on the go. Here's what to do.
Step 1: Open an app Settings on your Android phone.
Step 2: Locate Background and style. Tap Lock screen at the top.
Step 3: Swipe left or right on lock screen clock Check out several styles to choose from.


Step 4: close Android Settings Check that the lock screen is on.
The default clock size and color on your lock screen may not be to everyone's liking. Keep reading to adjust the clock shade and size.
2. Change the clock color and size
By default, Android 14 uses one of the shades from the wallpaper applied to the lock screen clock. You can change it using the steps below.
Step 1: Go to Wallpaper and Pattern In the Settings app on your Android phone (see steps above).
Step 2: Set the relevant clock and click on “Color and size of the watch” Within the preview.


Step 3: Locate the color Change its intensity using the slider below.
Step 4: Go to Size ListYou have two options to choose from.


- dynamic: This is the default option and changes the clock size based on the lock screen content. When you have multiple notifications on the lock screen, a small clock icon appears in the upper left corner. When you don't have any notifications, the system displays a large clock on the lock screen.
- small: Displays a small clock icon on the lock screen. You can check the live preview at the top.
3. Edit lock screen shortcuts
You can now access the camera, enable DND, open Google Home, the QR code scanner, the video camera, and launch the torch directly from the lock screen. You can set up two shortcuts on the lock screen.
Step 1: Go to Background and pattern In Android settings (see steps above).
Step 2: Locate Abbreviations.
Step 3: Press the left shortcut and select Related job. Swipe to the right shortcut and choose another one.


You can use these functions directly from your Android phone's lock screen.
4. Disable notifications on the lock screen

Step 1: Go to Background and style In Android settings (see steps above).
Step 2: Disable the toggle switch Show notifications on the lock screen.


5. Enable Always On Display

6. Add text to the lock screen
You can add custom text on the lock screen.
Step 1: Open menu Lock Screen from app Settings On your Android device (see steps above).
Step 2: Click on Add text to the lock screen Type the text. Click Save, and you're good to go.
