People can be annoying, persistent, and even stalk you on mobile messaging apps. I bet you have someone like that in your WeChat contacts and want to do something to keep your sanity. Let's see how you can unfriend, go invisible, hide Moments, mute, or block someone on WeChat.
The methods and settings for both Android smartphones remain the same. Android و iOS As is. So you can follow the same steps for both.
let's start.
1. Mute someone on WECHAT
Blocking someone isn't subtle. It's one of the unwritten, unspoken rules of the internet—you don't block someone unless they cross a line. So let's start with the mute feature first to get rid of the annoyance. Tap on their name to open the chat window, then tap the three dots to open the menu.
Tap Mute Notifications to activate it. Now you won't receive notifications when someone contacts you for no reason at all.
If you want to mute a group's notifications, the mute will only be for the group, but you will still hear notifications from members of that group if they choose to message you directly.
2. Hide Moments in WECHAT
WeChat handles Moments differently. The policy is that friends of my friends are not my friends. This means that while your friend can view Moments, their friends can only view them if they are also your friends. Now, if you don't want anyone to see your Moments, tap the "Me" data tab at the bottom of the screen and select "Settings." Then select "Privacy."
Under Moments and Time Capsule, click Hide My Posts. Now simply click the “+” icon and find the name you want to hide your posts and Moments from.
Once you have selected the name, click OK and you are done.
If you want to remove the name in the future, click the "-" symbol that should now be visible. Select the name you want to delete and click OK again.
3. Unfriend someone on WECHAT
Unfriending someone is a drastic step, and people usually have a good enough reason to do so on WeChat. Launch the WeChat app, tap "Contacts," and select the name of the person you want to unfriend. Now tap the three-dot menu to reveal more options.
Click "Delete" at the bottom of the menu to remove the person from your friends list. This will delete the person, and you will no longer receive messages from them.
As you can see, you can also manage Moments and Time Capsules from the individual contacts list here.
4. Block someone on WECHAT
This is the last resort. This is what we do when things become unbearable and out of control. Blocking is the only option for shameless people who think they can send and share messages.
Open WeChat and tap the Contacts tab. Select the name of the person you want to block permanently. Tap the menu icon in the top right, as you did in the previous step.
A new menu will appear from the bottom up. Tap Block and then OK to confirm.
5. Determine your search methods
If an unknown person sends you a friend request on WeChat, the first question that might come to your mind is, "How did they find you?" Anyone can search for your name and email address to make a simple guess. After that, connecting the dots isn't difficult.
Tap the Me tab on the Home screen, then select Settings. Now tap Privacy.
Click on Find Me Methods here, and you'll be amazed at the number of ways people can search for me on WeChat.
If you share a QR code image via email or online, participating in public group chats can lead to unwanted friend requests. A mutual friend/enemy might share your contact card. Obtaining someone's phone number isn't difficult these days.

We don't talk!
WeChat, just like any other messaging app, was created to bring people together and make new friends or catch up with old ones. Unfortunately, some people can't stop abusing the system that was created to help them. Fortunately, there are ways to protect yourself using blocking, muting, unfriending, and even reporting features. Use them wisely.
